Here's where I started off. I made thick strips of paper and twisted them round and glued the ends together to make interesting little pods... I arranged them in a stack, and photographed it from a few different angles to create some interesting shapes. Photographed on a black background, they contrast well and make it look like the shapes have been cut into the black.
Working with a whole sheet of A4 this time, I cut 1cm thick lines lengthways. "Pinching" the paper in random places on each strip created this "wave" effect... Moving it around, turning it upside down but keeping the light in one fixed position changed how the shadows appeared sometimes making it look like the paper had been cut in places.
So yeah...
