I cut a piece of paper into strips again, making each strip a cm longer than the one before it. I did it nearly halfway across the piece of paper, then again on the other half, and then attached them together, creating a nice strong curve and the fan effect you can see.
Working with the wave sculpture I created before, I attached each end together to create this lantern style sculpture. Not entirely happy with how this turned out, but I got a far more satisfying sculpture when I folded it in on itself and photographed it from above:
